Benefits of Publishing

The journal offers significant benefits to authors including:

  • International, peer-reviewed open access journal
  • Listed on PubMed and freely available via PubMed Central
  • Open access format, driving high visibility and global exposure
  • Indexing in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
  • Fast, rigorous peer review
  • Article metrics service to allow each author to monitor re-use of published articles

Manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to double-blind peer review by a minimum of two to three suitably qualified reviewers. All editorial decisions are the responsibility of Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, or an Associate Editor.
Each stage of the editorial and production process is monitored to prevent delays to the authors, who are regularly informed of changes in their paper's status. Editorial contributors, journal staff, and external contractors who contribute to editorial and production processes are qualified, experienced professionals chosen for their ability to efficiently contribute towards high-quality published papers. Article processing charges are communicated to authors prior to and during manuscript submission. There are no additional fees based on use of color, figure or word-count.
