Deputy Editor in Chief
The deputy editor in chief provides support to the editor in chief on editorial decision-making, and is responsible for editorial-decisions when the editor in chief is unavailable or has declared a conflict of interest.
Lin Yan, PhD
Dr. Yan is a Research Nutritionist at the Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center, Agriculture Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. He attended graduate school at Texas Tech University, where he earned his doctoral degree in Human Nutrition in 1990. Dr. Yan completed his post-doctoral training in the area of selenium and cancer biology at Rutgers University. After that he was a research faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Creighton University School of Medicine. In 2007, Dr. Yan joined the staff at the Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center.
Dr. Yan's research interest is in the field of dietary prevention of obesity-related diseases. Currently, he is a principle investigator on Agriculture Research Service-funded projects focusing on dietary modification, physical exercise and secondary cancer prevention. Dr. Yan published extensively. He has reviewed grant applications for National Cancer Institute, NIH, and manuscripts for many scientific journals.
