Libertas Announces Collaboration with OASPA

Posted Fri, Aug, 16,2013

Libertas is happy to announce our new membership with the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA). Through this membership all authors can rest assured that the interests of open access are supported.

The Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) is a trade association that was established in 2008 in order to represent the interests of Open Access (OA) journal publishers globally in all scientific, technical and scholarly disciplines.

OASPA operates through shared interest in developing appropriate business models, tools and standards to support OA publishing, ensuring a prosperous and sustainable future to benefit the authors we serve.

Libertas Academica’s CEO, Tom Hill, comments: “OASPA’s leadership has matured considerably in the past two years and its members now constitutes an influential body of leading OA publishers and associated organisations.  I have been impressed by the robust, professional evaluation process it applies to new members, and I believe that authors, readers, and others can be confident in its integrity.  I look forward to working with OASPA in the future and firmly support it’s work.”

Libertas is also a member of leading professional associations including ALPSP, IPG, COPE, IDPF and UKSG.  We also contribute to DOAJ, CLOCKSS, CrossCheck, and CrossRef, amongst other organisations.
