Neuronal cell death is highly involved in brain development, injury, and disease, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and other diseases. This special collection seeks to discuss the mechanisms involved in each conditions. A better understanding of the mechanisms involved in normal or abnormal neuronal cell death will provide valuable insight into new therapeutic approaches for the prevention and/or treatment of neurodegeneration diseases and injury.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Neuronal cell death in nervous system development
  • Neuronal cell death in neurodegeneration disease
  • Neuronal cell death in injury
  • Apoptosis and neuronal cell death
  • Necrosis and neuronal cell death
  • Glia cells and neuronal cell death
