Overview: 

This special issue of Breast Cancer: Basic and Clinical Research aims to collect all aspect of research on breast cancer metastasis and drug resistance to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and other emerging clinical therapeutics.  We hope to stimulate new ideas and research development of novel agents and effective strategies to combat breast cancer metastasis and overcome drug resistance.  The overall goal is to reduce the mortality rate of breast cancer and find a cure.

Specific areas of interests include, but are not limited to:
  • Genetic and epigenetic basis and molecular driving forces of breast cancer metastasis and drug resistance 
  • Metastasis progression and drug resistance in different breast cancer subtypes
  • Immune system and stromal involvement in pathobiology of breast cancer metastasis
  • Breast cancer models, signal networks, emerging imaging techniques and biomarkers for breast cancer metastasis and drug resistance
  • Novel therapeutic strategies and clinical interventions to combat metastatic breast cancer and drug resistance 
  • Bioinformatic and machine-learning approaches towards understanding of breast cancer metastasis and identification of prognostic markers of breast cancer treatment.
