Overview: 

This special collection will gather articles related to tumor cell interactions with their microenvironment including the basement membrane, extracelluar matrix, immune cells, fibroblasts, vasculature and tumor associated inflammation.

Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Interactions between tumor cells and the microenvironment that may promote tumor growth and  treatment resistance
  • Tumor and immune cell heterogeneity and response to treatment
  • Potential targets to improve anti-tumor immune responses
  • Alterations to the tumor microenvironment resulting from radiation and or chemotherapy
  • New models to investigate the interactions between tumors and their microenvironment
