Overview: 

This Special Collection focuses on dietary tryptophan and aims at collecting studies (both research and review articles) related to tryptophan from food sources, including oral bioavailability, biokinetics, metabolism, as well as health-promoting effects in humans.

Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Tryptophan-rich foods
  • Bioavailability and biokinetics of dietary tryptophan
  • Tryptophan metabolites and derivatives in body fluids
  • Chrononutrition and circadian physiology
  • Dietary tryptophan and aging
  • Novel ‘omics’ approaches in dietary tryptophan research
