Deputy Editor in Chief

The deputy editor in chief provides support to the editor in chief on editorial decision-making, and is responsible for editorial-decisions when the editor in chief is unavailable or has declared a conflict of interest. 

Albert M. Thomas, PhD

Dr Albert M Thomas is a Professor of Radiology, Psychiatry, Physics and Biology in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering , and the Director of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy at UCLA Health in Los Angeles, California.

He has a PhD in Philosophy: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and a MSc in Physics from the American College Madurai University in Madurai. He completed Postdoctoral fellowships in Chemistry at Purdue University, Indiana and Laboratorium fur Physikalische Chemie, Switzerland. He was the research faculty and the Director of Clinical MR Spectroscopy in Radiology & Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

His research interests include physics of MR imaging and spectroscopy,  developments of novel  MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) techniques, and evaluation of MRSI techniques in healthy tissues and in different pathologies.
